Influencer’s Mysterious Death: Teen Claims Accidental Overdose During Sexual Encounter
In a shocking turn of events, a 16-year-old girl has come forward to the police, stating that 26-year-old digital influencer Henrique Medeiros suffered a heart attack and died on Christmas night after consuming drugs and engaging in sexual activity with her in the bathroom of her family’s home in Itapecerica da Serra, in Greater São Paulo.
According to the investigating officer, the young girl’s statement reveals that both she and the owners of the property panicked and decided to bury his body in the backyard. The discovery of the corpse took place five days later (more details below).
“The girl was interviewed at the police station and informed us that she had a consensual relationship with him. She also stated that after the young man used cocaine, he suffered an overdose during the sexual act and collapsed. She tried to revive him for over an hour but was unsuccessful,” said Luis Roberto Faria Hellmeister, head of the Central Police Station in Itapecerica, on Wednesday (3rd).
The testimony of the student was given on Tuesday (2nd). The girl went to the police station accompanied by her father.
The teenager is the sister of the house owner. The 24-year-old woman and her 28-year-old husband, who is also the property owner, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in Henrique’s death.
All three individuals present in the house were acquainted and friends with the influencer, according to the ongoing investigation.
Murder or Accidental Death
The Civil Police is investigating whether Henrique was murdered or experienced an accidental death due to a sudden illness caused by drug use. In addition to the teenager, the couple who owns the house also provided the same version that the influencer died after consuming cocaine and having intercourse with the girl.
The man and his wife were interrogated a few days ago and denied any involvement in the homicide. They also explained that they buried the body because they were scared of the situation.
However, only the results of the examination by the Forensic Science Institute can confirm the hypothesis put forward by these individuals who were present with Henrique at the Christmas dinner. The toxicological and necropsy test results are still pending. The Forensic Medical Institute (IML) will determine whether the influencer had used cocaine and if the cause of death was a heart attack due to an overdose.
“These tests will take about another two weeks to be completed,” said Luis Roberto. “Depending on the results, the case will be classified as a homicide or the concealment of a body. Moreover, the three individuals we have already questioned admitted to helping bury and hide the body.”
According to the detective, although the teenager stated that she helped bury Henrique, the police have not yet requested from the court the girl’s placement in the Youth Detention Center for possible compliance with socio-educational measures for an infraction. “We will decide on this matter later when we conclude the investigation.”
Owner Decided to Bury the Body
Furthermore, the teenager revealed in her statement that it was the homeowner’s decision to bury Henrique.
“She stated that after unsuccessfully reviving him through cardiac massage, the husband of her sister thought it would be best to bury him. They dressed him, as he was naked, and passed the body through the window to the grave that had been dug by the property owner,” said Luis Roberto.
According to the detective, the girl also mentioned that the homeowner had consumed drugs with the influencer.
“I believe he didn’t want to call the police or ambulance to avoid them coming to his house and finding drugs. This way, he could avoid the risk of losing custody of his three children with his wife, who is currently pregnant.”
The deceased influencer presented himself as Henrique Medeiros on social media. He had over 84 thousand followers on Instagram and almost 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube.
On these digital platforms, he posted videos of pranks and jokes he played on neighbors in the community where he lived in Itapecerica da Serra.
Timeline of the Case
Henrique was a Palmeiras football club fan and worked as a video producer. He even earned around R$3,000 on one of his projects. He went missing on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2023, when he went to have dinner at the house of his friends, the couple, where the teenage sister of the property owner was also present.
His body was found on the last Sunday, December 31st, in Itapecerica da Serra. Henrique was buried in the backyard of his friends’ house, where he had gone to spend the evening.
The influencer’s family informed the police that the last message they received from him was an audio sent at 1:37 am on December 25th to the family group, wishing them a “Merry Christmas.”
Subsequently, since he did not return home, relatives and friends decided to search for him and report his disappearance to the local police station.
During the search, they noticed that the soil in the backyard of the house where Henrique had spent Christmas had been disturbed. The couple who owned the property was no longer there. Some people entered the house and saw the influencer’s clothes.
They called the police, who brought in firefighters to conduct the excavations. They subsequently uncovered Henrique’s body.
Family Does Not Believe in Overdose
The influencer was called “Caíque” by his family. He was the youngest and only male among his five siblings. He lived with his older sister, as their parents had passed away. While awaiting the autopsy results to determine the cause of his death, his relatives are trying to find answers to what may have happened to him.
Cristiane Aparecida Medeiros does not believe that her brother died due to a drug overdose, as claimed by the couple in their police statement.
“Both the man and the woman have lied before, saying they hadn’t seen my brother when they actually had. They even buried him in their own backyard. If my brother really fell ill as they claimed, why didn’t they call an ambulance to help him? Instead, they chose to bury him and flee,” said the influencer’s sister.
Among the hypotheses considered by family members is the possibility that the influencer was murdered out of envy, as he was making money producing videos in the region. So far, the police have not found any evidence that money was taken.
Couple in Custody Lied to Family
The imprisoned couple were friends with the influencer. The man had known Henrique since childhood, and his wife is currently pregnant. At the request of the Civil Police, the court has ordered their temporary detention for one month.
The two of them have been charged with murder by the Itapecerica da Serra police station.
According to the investigation, the couple initially lied when approached by the influencer’s family. When asked about his whereabouts, they replied that he had left the house in the early morning. They then posted photos about his disappearance, seeking information on their social media accounts.
The man and the woman left the property while the police and the family were searching for clues regarding Henrique. They presented themselves to the police station once the influencer’s body had been buried in the backyard of their own residence.
According to the police, during their interrogation, the couple admitted that they panicked upon Henrique’s sudden death and chose to bury the body instead of calling for help and summoning an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
The house where the influencer’s body was found was later set on fire by the residents. The community was outraged by his death and wanted to demand justice by burning down the property, which is a crime. No suspects in the arson have been arrested.
